Begbies expands offshore network
ACCOUNTANCY group Begbies Traynor Group has expanded its offshore business with a new office in the Cayman Islands.
It has also reached an agreement with Isle of Man-based Paul Shimmin of Shimmin Wilson & Co to work on forensic accounting and corporate intelligence for Begbies which already has bases in Jersey and Guernsey.
The Manchester-based group said the Cayman office, headed by Mike Saville, would specialise in providing insolvency and forensic services for offshore structures including funds and special investment vehicles.
It will extend the work of Begbies’ US-based joint venture Mesirow Financial Consulting.
Chairman Ric Traynor said: “These developments represent another step in our strategy to grow our insolvency and restructuring practice through both organic investment and acquisitions.
“They will further enhance the group’s existing presence in the important and rapidly growing offshore markets, giving the group the resources and expertise to carry out complex and cross-jurisdictional work.”
