Finley boosted by council orders

FAMILY-owned building, refurbishment and maintenance services company FT Finley has boosted its order book after winning work with local authorities.

The Stockport-based company, which is the year to the end of May 2011 turned over £6.3m, has been appointed to council frameworks in Manchester. Lancashire and Shropshire.
 
At Manchester City Council it is one of nine contractor appointed to supply and install equipment and adapt properties to help residents live independently.

The council anticipates spending £3m a year through the framework, which will last for at least three years. There will be an additional budget of £700,000 a year made available from 2013.

With Preston City Council FT Finley is one of three firms appointed to supply and install alley gating, with the total expenditure estimated at £400,000.

Slightly further afield, it is one of eight suppliers appointed to Shropshire Council’s 12 month construction contractor framework to carry out major electrical projects.

Operations director Jay Finley, son of founder Fred, said: “FT Finley has considerable skills and expertise in electrical works and planned maintenance, meaning we’re a good fit for all three frameworks.

“We are already well established in the North West, and it’s great to see that we are further cementing our position as a leading contractor in the region. In 2012, we also hope to strengthen our presence in other regions, so being appointed to Shropshire Council’s framework is especially significant for us as well.”
