Appointments: Chamber role for Hallwood; TLC adds two

ALTRINCHAM and Sale Chamber of Commerce has appointed marketeer Barbara Hallwood as its chief executive.

Mrs Hallwood, from Bowdon, Altrincham, has been working with the organisation, which is independent of Greater Manchester Chamber, for several years to raise its profile and lead an events programme.

She will combine the role with her work ay her marketing, PR and events agency Marketing Profile.

She said: “I am delighted to take up the role of CEO of the Altrincham & Sale Chamber of Commerce..  Over the past two years I have provided the Chamber with marketing suppor.  Undoubtedly times have been challenging however the Chamber has continued to look at different initiatives to help and support businesses. 

“I look forward to working with current members and also to welcoming new.  By working together, we can all succeed.”

MANCHESTER events company TLC has appointed two new members to its team.

Abi Leckenby has joined the Old Trafford-based company as personal assistant to TLC managing director Liz Taylor and Erin Poland has been hired as events manager.  
 
Abi Leckenby is the former executive PA to managing director of the Manchester Evening News & MEN Media, while Erin has joined from the Manchester restaurant Dukes 92.

Liz Taylor said: “Following a solid business performance last year we managed to increase our profitability. Strengthening the team is part of our strategy to forge ahead in growing the business on the back of positive signs that the corporate events market is once again bouncing back from the recession.”
