Professionals team up to launch valuations practice

TWO professional advisers have teamed up to launch a new firm offering specialist business valuation services.
David Houghton, the former head of corporate finance at law firm Brabners Chaffe Street, and ex-Alliance Fund Managers Chief Executive Mark Fuller have created Bridge Houghton LLP.
Based in Chester, it aims to provide corporate valuation services to support accountancy, legal and private equity firms as well as business owners.
The founders believe that a range of law firm departments will benefit from their services, particularly family, private client and litigation as well as complementing corporate and commercial offerings.
Bridge Houghton has also recruited David Wilkinson, another ex-Brabners corporate finance lawyer. It has also established an advisory panel from a range of industry sectors to broaden its depth of understanding and advice it can provide.
David Houghton said: “We believe that Bridge Houghton is unique in the North West in providing other professional and financial services firms and business owners with independent and specialist valuation services.
“We have a team of experienced chartered accountants, but the service we provide goes much further than a formula driven accountancy process.
“We are able to tap into the industry knowledge of our unique advisory panel to fully research and understand the market in which a particular business operates.
“The result of our work is a robust valuation which can be trusted by clients and advisors and which will stand up to any scrutiny and challenge.
Mark Fuller said: “We are unaware of a similar firm in the North West and there is only a handful in the UK capable of providing the service offered by Bridge Houghton.
“We have deliberately created a business which complements rather than competes with other advisory firms.”
