Airangel appoints new MD as sales grow

WIFI provider Airangel has doubled its turnover to £1.4m in the past year.

The Warrington-based company specialises in branded wired and wireless guest internet access for the hospitality and conferencing industries.

In the past year the company has seen a 130% increase in internet connections and diversified to provide wifi services at sports grounds and in car showrooms.

It has also secured new contracts with Holiday Inn Express hotels and accountancy firm Baker Tilly.

This growth has led to the promotion of sales director Dean Wilkinson to managing director. He has taken over from chairman Mike Gardner who also runs Airangel’s sister company – the interior design group Claremont.
 
Mr Wilkinson said: “We’re part of a mobile age and the internet is a daily part of our lives, so much so that guest internet access is an essential component for many businesses, whether it’s allowing staff to hot desk or giving hotel guests access to online services.
 
“In the last year we’ve expanded our reach into new sectors and are continually helping clients to realise the full revenue, customer service and marketing benefits that WiFi systems can deliver.”
