Chaplin opens northern branch for London firm

GARY Chaplin is to open a new northern office for London-based recruiter Communicate:RS.

Mr Chaplin, who found himself at the centre of a tabloid storm last month over an abusive email sent under a pseudonym to a jobseeker, has been made managing director of the firm’s northern office.

Thomas de Freitas, managing director and director of specialist markets at Communicate:RS, said: “While the last 12 months have been challenging for the recruitment industry as a whole, 2011 was a period of growth for Communicate.

“We now have offerings in finance, IT, banking, specialist markets, executive search and of course a Northern office.“

“We are over the moon that Gary has chosen Communicate as the next step in his career.”

Speaking about his new role, Mr Chaplin said: “Setting up a business with Communicate is a fantastic opportunity.“

“Finding a company and business leaders who share my commercial hunger, passion for recruitment and love of innovation is extremely rare.”

Mr Chaplin had previously worked for Manchester-based recruiter Stark Brooks for five years.
