C-Tech boosts capacity with £3m move

ELECTRONIC safety products manufacturer C-Tech is gearing up for growth after moving its operations from two different sites to a new 75,000 sq ft base in Wigan.

The company has invested £3m to purchase and transform a former warehouse on Challenge Way Industrial Estate into a modern headoffice and production facility.

C-Tech acquired the warehouse site in June last year and has recently completed its move. The business originally manufactured burglar alarms but now produces a broader range of products including fire alarm control panels, voice alarm systems, disabled refuge alarms and nurse call systems.

C-Tech employs 120 staff and exports its products to more than 60 countries worldwide.

The company has installed a new £1m production line which it said would help to meet demand for its most popular products to help increase its £10m turnover.

Managing director Andrew Foster said: “Operating from two different sites was not ideal and limited our plans to develop the business. Bringing everything together under one roof has been a priority for some time and we are delighted to have finished the move.

“The new building allows us to increase the production of our most popular products and introduce new lines that will further enhance our reputation.”

The move was part-financed by a £1.8m mortgage from Royal Bank of Scotland.

Neil Marshall, RBS relationship director, said: “The new building is very impressive and makes a real statement about C-Tech’s aspirations.  We are delighted to help them make this move.”
