Print firm buy-out saves 30 jobs

AROUND 30 jobs have been saved at a struggling Stockport printing firm following its sale to a local entrepreneur.
The business and assets SF Taylor & Co has been acquired by Chatham House, which is a company owned by Nick Snelson, who also owns Cheadle-based APS Group.
The company was originally founded in 1926 to supply pattern cards to cotton mills but more recently operated as a general printer until Manchester-based insolvency firm Leonard Curtis was appointed as administrators on November 29.
It appointed surveyors and valuers Charterfields to help find a buyer for the business.
Ian Maycock, director at Charterfields’ Manchester office, said: “We are particularly pleased that it will secure the future of this long-established North West business.”
Chatham House has acquired the business and assets of SF Taylor as a going concern and will continue to trade the business.
SF Taylor provided print services to APS Group, which was started 50 years ago by Snelson’s father.
