Zurich expands Manchester city centre base

INSURANCE firm Zurich Private Clients has relocated to Manchester city centre from Wilmslow.
The company, which is the company’s high net worth division, now shares the Norfolk House premises occupied by the Zurich Insurance regional office.
The move doubles the number of Zurich employees in the centre of Manchester to 120.
The relocation allows the firm to consolidate its resources and create more opportunities for staff.
Richard Smith, Zurich UK’s head of broker market North West, said: “Zurich is fully committed to the Manchester business and insurance community and this move presents a great opportunity to increase our presence in the heart of this vibrant business district.
“Manchester’s strong public transport network also played a key role in overcoming the challenges of the move.”
The move is supported by MIDAS, Manchester’s Investment and Development Agency.
Tim Newns, deputy chief executive of MIDAS said: “Manchester city centre already has one of the most respected insurance business communities in the UK and this consolidation by Zurich will further strengthen the city’s offer in the sector.”
