Turkish textiles firm weaves its way into Manchester

A Turkish company which manufactures weather-resistant fabrics is to open an office in Manchester.

Dominant Textile, which was set up in 2003, has taken office space at Peter House on Oxford Street.

The company makes industrial and specialist fabrics designed to resist extremes in temperature and said it will use the office to grow its international operations.

The company’s move was supported by North West Regional Development Agency (NWDA) and UK Trade & Investment, whom financial manager Ayhan Imir described as “extremely helpful”.

“It is very important for the UK to provide such useful information for companies like ourselves that are considering expanding abroad,” he said.

NWDA chief executive Steven Broomhead said: “With the region’s strengths in the technical textiles industry, a regional growth sector, the Northwest is the ideal location for the company and I am pleased to welcome them to Manchester.”
