Nimans announces shake-up of operations

SALFORD-based telecoms distributor Nimans has announced that it is to restructure its operations by phasing out the Rocom brand it acquired last year in its core reseller market.

The firm said that its reseller operations would be “rolled into one dedicated reseller” known as Nimans. It also said that call handling capabilities would be improved and that reseller credit limitswith companies who held accounts with both firms would be unaffected.

Chairman and managing director Julian Niman said the restructuring would allow it to create more efficient and cost effective marketing campaigns which would “allow us to divert funds into lead generation and joint reseller marketing activities”.

“The thinking behind this development is that following last year’s acquisition process, there was a degree of conflict as both brands competed in the same sales channel, often for the same business,” he said.

“The new structure simplifies things for everyone and allows suppliers to better direct their resources to one central operation.”

He added that Nimans would no longer conduct any corporate business by selling directly to end users. This activirty will now be carried out under the Rocom brand.

Niman said that no job losses would arise as a result of the developments and that the Rocom brand would continue to operate from Wetherby in North Yorkshire.

“We view this decision as a statement of intent which is part of our long term commitment to the reseller channel,” he said.
