Police investigate collapsed foodstore chain

A POLICE investigation is after food retail chain Out of Town Leisure Group was put in administration.
The Sheffield-based group specialised in providing retail catering outlets in major shopping centres.
It was launched in 1998 with outlets in Peel’s Trafford Centre complex and at Macarthur Glen’s designer outlet villages.
The company later went into administration in 2007 and was bought by Lawrence Wosskow and renamed Out of Town Leisure Group Ltd.
In a statement, South Yorkshire Police confirmed it had received allegations of fraud on Wednesday.
Yorkshire-based Out of Town Leisure Group is understood to have been placed in administration on Wednesday afternoon.
A police spokeswoman said: “South Yorkshire Police received allegations of fraud from a Sheffield company on Wednesday 14 July. Police are looking into these allegations.”
Nobody was available from the company to comment this morning.
