Wells Fargo seals Burdale deal

US financial giant Wells Fargo has completed its purchase of asset-based lender Burdale Financial from Bank of Ireland.
The business, which in the North West is led by Judith McMath, is now [art of the American group’s asset-based lending business, Wells Fargo Capital Finance, but will now operate as Burdale Financial Limited, a Wells Fargo Company.
Wells Fargo Capital Finance has assets of $28bn and nearly 1,700 staff worldwide.
Judith McMath said: “We believe this acquisition to be positive for both our business and our customers. By bringing our businesses together, we expect to expand our asset-based financing capabilities over the coming years.”
Last year San Francisco-based Wells Fargo was ranked 23rd in Fortune’s list of America’s largest corporations.
