Property round-up: Liverpool Waters decision due in March; How appointed on Bridge St Quarter; and more

LIVERPOOL City Council is set to decide on the planning application from Peel Group for its £6.5bn Liverpool Waters scheme on March 6.

The application, which was initially submitted in January 2011, has been the subject of fierce debate in the city and from lobbying by heritage organisations who have argued that it will blight the city’s waterfront, which has World Heritage Status.

Peel will host a two-day public exhibition in Liverpool displaying new high-tech graphics and video imagery of the project on February 24th and 25th.

An extensive community consultation programme will be launched in the spring after which a planning application for the masterplan will be submitted to the council.

Gary Halman, partner at HOW Planning, said: “This is a really exciting scheme for what has been a neglected part of Warrington’s town centre for too long.

“There is huge potential for regeneration and the plans being developed by Muse will make a significant contribution and act as a major catalyst for the regeneration of the wider town centre, as well as providing an impressive addition to the town’s retail and leisure offer, closely linked in to the main shopping area.”
