Express Solicitors pledges £3m investment

MANCHESTER law firm Express Solicitors has annnounced plans for a £3m investment which will see it take on 40 new staff.

The personal injury firm said that £1m of this will be spent on a new property, and that it is doubling its marketing spend over the next year from £750,000 to £1.5m.

The company said that once in place, the new employees would take numbers at the firm to 120 and help it to achieve its target of growing turnover to £10m within the next 3-4 years.

Partner Robin Patey said: “The decision to make this multi-million pound investment follows changes in law firm ownership that will inevitably lead to the consolidation of smaller firms.

“However, with strong year on year growth since the firm was launched and an outstanding 2011, despite the economic downturn, we wanted to expand the firm rather than consolidate.”

Express Solicitors was launched in September 2000 and in 2011 it achieved a profit of £1.4m on revenues of £4.1m – up from £3m in 2010.

Caseloads had also grown by 41% over the same period as a result of increased investment in marketing, the firm said.
