DLA Piper boosts Liverpool corporate team

CORPORATE lawyer Gareth McIntegart has joined DLA Piper’s Liverpool office as a partner.
The Belfast-born 41-year-old father of two, said the lure of DLA Piper’s international strength persuaded him to make the short move across the city from DWF, where he was head of corporate.
He said: “I am really delighted to have joined DLA Piper- it’s a solid blue chip brand and I see a great opportunity here to support businesses in the Liverpool city region.”
Mr McIntegart who studied at Liverpool University joined DWF in 1995 and after leaving to join BAE Systems in Preston, where he worked for 18 months between 1998 and 2000, rose through the ranks after rejoining the firm and became a fixed share partner in 2003.
At DLA Piper he will work closely with Paul Rimmer, the other corporate partner, who he has known since law college.
“I’ve always been pretty visible in he local market throughout my career and I am looking forward to getting out in the business community and developing relationships.”
He said that all sizes of business were looking for opportunites to trade internationally and that DLA Piper’s strong credentials was a clear advantage in the market place.
“All large law firms are realising the need to have at international offering, and for some it’s an aspiration but at DLA Piper it’s a reality.”
