GVA snaps up Dixon Webb

GVA has acquired Cheshire-based planning consultancy Dixon Webb.

The firm said that the purchase follows a number of acquisitions made within the past year to strengthen its presence within its existing business.

Dixon Webb currently operates from four North West offices – Chester, Liverpool and Whitehaven as well as its HQ at Sutton Weaver. However, staff will now move to GVA’s existing office in Liverpool.

The firm was set up in 1986 following the merger of two predecessor firms and employs 25 staff. It has developed a number of specialisms including advising on airports, ports and harbours, nuclear and gas power generation, renewable energy, waterways, agricultural land and conservation projects.

David Sayer, regional director at GVA’s Liverpool office, said: “This is a first-class acquisition that demonstrates our unwavering commitment to Liverpool, Merseyside and the wider North West market.

“We see real growth in the city and region. As such, we are extremely excited by what is the latest in a line of strategic acquisitions to strengthen areas of our existing business and to support our organic growth programme.

Dixon Webb managing partner Eddie Coxon said: “GVA’s market leading multidisciplinary service will complement the needs of our existing clients.

“The cultural fit is good, and it provides us with the strongest possible platform from which to gain further prominence within our specialist fields.”
