Burton’s Garden Centre to close

BURTON’S Garden Centre Nurseries is set to close on Friday, March 23.

The business, which operates a garden centre with a number of retail concessions from an 8-acre site at Neston, Wirral, has been in administration since February 3.

Joint administrators Paul Flint and Brian Green from KPMG’s restructuring team have continued to trade the business since in the hope of finding a buyer.

However, none has come forward and a recent inspection uncovered the need for a number of health and safety improvements so a decision was taken to close the site. All three employers are set to be made redundant.

Mr Flint said: “Having been unable to secure a buyer, and given the health and safety improvements required on the site, Burtons Garden Nurseries will cease trading in two weeks. The location will remain open for this period to provide time for its 14 retail tenants to relocate their businesses.”
