Energetix gains safety accreditation for Genlec boiler

ENERGETIX Group has announced that its Genlec subsidiary has gained part of the safety accreditation from the from the British Standards Institution needed to install its its Kingston microCHP Delta boilers.

The Chester-based company gained a unit Verification for the range, which it said its an important step towards Batch Verification for a targeted batch of 45 units. These will be installed and tested as part of a forthcoming trial of the new Kingston boiler, which will be the centrepiece of a new dual fuel Energy Supply Company, called Kingston Energy.

The Kingston microCHP boiler will be able to generate electricity, which should allow Kingston Energy to achieve a higher profit from each customer than for a typical energy supplier.

Energetix believes its Kingston Energy proposition is unique and “represents a substantial opportunity to use the Kingston boiler appliance to become a major energy supplier”.

It has already agreed to work with Calor Gas on a liquefied petroleum gas version and with Carillion Energy Services on the installation and testing of the Kingston Boiler.

Energetix also announced on 5 March 2012 that it had entered into an agreement with ScottishPower to trial the Kingston microCHP boiler.

Energetix’s chief executive officer Adrian Hutchings said: “Unit verification of the production engineered appliance marks another important step in the process of commercialising the Kingston boiler and establishing our new Energy Supply Business, Kingston Energy.

“We believe that with ever increasing fuel bills, strong demand for greener and cleaner energy, and increased regulatory support for microCHP products the prospects for our Kingston microCHP boiler are stronger than ever.”
