Indies top office agents league

WHR and Edwards & Co have topped the Manchester Office Agents Forum’s first lettings league table.

The forum has published its first league table based on lettings completed in 2011, with WHR finishing top in terms of the amount of space let – some 184,139 sq ft of the 700,00 sq ft let in Manchester city centre last year. It was closely followed by Edwards & Co (163,523 sq ft) and  Jones Lang LaSalle (136,972 sq ft).

In terms of the number of deal complete, though, the top two positions reversed with Edwards & Co (53) finishing ahead of WHR (47).

In the out-of-town market Canning O’Neill let the most space (106,325), followed by GVA (97,523 sq ft) and WHR (68,602 sq ft).

Peter Gallagher, spokesman for the Manchester Office Agents Forum (MOAF) and partner at p3 property consultants, said: “As the office market begins its recovery phase, there will be inevitably swings of take-up one way or the other and we feel it is just too important a business metric to leave to chance.”
