Law firm sets up in a pub

LIVERPOOL law firm BMD:Law has moved into new offices at The Lamb former pub building on High St in Wavertree.

The freehold of the grade II-listed building was bought from Punch Taverns. The Manchester office of Colliers advised BMD Law’s founder Bernadette McDonald on the purchase.

McDonald is moving her four year-old business from nearby Picton Rd. She said: “I’m overjoyed to be moving the firm into the building which is not only historically important and impressive in its own right but also has strong emotional ties for me because my parents, grandparents and great grandparents all lived within sight of The Lamb and it was a long-running family joke that we would never move far away.

“We look forward to restoring the building to its former glory and ensuring that its 200-year heritage continues far into the future.”

Ian Walsh, surveyor in the Licensed and Leisure team at Colliers said: “Interest in this grand building was strong and we are delighted to have completed a deal with Bernadette.”

BMD:Law provides commercial litigation, property and employment law services to businesses, as well as residential conveyancing and landlord agreements for local clients.
