A CHESHIRE-based company which operates a nationwide breakdown recovery service has been bought out of administration by its founding family.

A CHESHIRE-based company which operates a nationwide breakdown recovery service has been bought out of administration by its founding family.

Egertons Recovery, which has 14 depots around the country, has been bought back by the Egerton family in a deal which has saved 150 jobs after Duff & Phelps was appointed as administrators to the business last Friday, March 23.

The Mobberley-based business was started by the Egerton family in 1962 and pricipally operates around the M6 motorway corridor. It had a turnover of £11m last year.

Stephen Clancy and David Whitehouse were appointed as joint administrators and agreed a sale to Egertons Recovery Group, which is led by managing director Mark Egerton.

Mr Clancy said: “Following a period of extensive marketing undertaken by Duff and Phelps I am pleased to report that the joint administrators were successful in achieving a sale of the business and certain assets of the vompany as a going concern.

Mark Egerton, managing director of Egertons Recovery Group, said: “All of the company’s employees have transferred to Egertons Recovery Group as part of the sale and we look forward to providing Egertons customers with the high levels of service to which they are accustomed.”
