Kensington market site up for sale

THE site of the old Kensington Indoor Market in Liverpool has been put up for sale.
The 2.34 acre site already has outline planning permission for a large supermarket scheme and is being sold jointly by agents Sanderson Weatherall and Matthews & Goodman who were instructed on behalf of joint fixed charge receivers Mark Swiers and Daniel Hardy.
Permission had previously been granted for a 50,000 sq ft supermarket with additional retail, car parking and 44 two-storey dwelling houses and 15 apartments on the site in October 2010.
The adjacent site, incorporating the residential element of the planning permission, is in separate ownership and while not being offered for sale by the agents remains available via separate negotiation with its existing owners.
Mark Swiers, joint fixed charge receiver said: “This is a rare opportunity to acquire and redevelop a prime and prominent site in part of Liverpool enjoying massive regeneration.”
