Energetix and Bglobal strike energy deal

ENERGETIX Group is to set up a new energy supply company, having acquired from Bglobal Group a company which has a pre-accredited electricity supply licence.
Chester-based Energetix, which has developed a range of energy efficient products, has acquired Circuit Energy Supply Limited from Utiligroup Limited, part of Darwen-based smart metering firm Bglobal.
Circuit Energy Supply Limited has accreditation from Elexon, which demonstrates that it accedes to the Balancing and Settlement Code, the rules that govern electricity trading.
The firm has also signed a software licence agreement for the provision of energy data management software with Utilisoft, another subsidiary of Bglobal’s Utiligroup.
The acquisition and installation of the software is the first step in a plan to create a dual fuel energy business. Energetix will seek to acquire an additional licence to supply gas.
Energetix will create a new energy supply company, provisionally called Kingston Energy, which will provide free Kingston microCHP boilers to its customers in return for a commitment to purchase gas and electricity for a fixed period.
Tony Stiff, commercial director of Energetix, said: “We are very pleased to achieve this important milestone and are on track for delivery of an energy supply business in the fourth quarter of this year as planned. Acquiring the ‘Supplier in a Box’ from Utiligroup has accelerated the speed with which we are able to enter the market.”
Tim Jackson-Smith, chief executive of Bglobal, said: “We are very pleased to be working on this exciting project to bring another company into the energy supply market. Utiligroup has seen growing interest from a number of domestic and SME focused businesses looking to become energy suppliers who want to use our ‘Supplier in a Box’ solution.”
