Appointments: Steer promoted at Barclays; Taylor Patterson & more

BLACKPOOL-born David Steer has been appointed regional director for Barclays Retail and Business Banking division in North West UK.

In his new role Mr Steer will be responsible for 284 branches across North West England, Scotland, North Wales and Northern Ireland.

He was previously head of the bank’s premier telephony banking division based at its Manchester contact centre in Salford Quays.

After beginning his career as a management traineee at British Home Stores, he entered the financial services industry in 1990. He spent six years at Bank of Scotland before moving to GE Consumer Finance he rose through the ranks and became director of operations.
 
He said: Barclays has a great brand and I am delighted to be leading and developing our retail operation and presence in the North West UK.

LANCASHIRE financial advisory group, Taylor Patterson, has strengthened its team with the three appointments.

The Preston company has hired James McIntyre from Blackburn as a financial adviser, Andrew Jacques in an adviser support role and Natalie Hall has been recruited as part of the firm’s apprenticeship scheme.
