Burnley to host Small Firms’ Summit

GOVERNMENT policies on small businesses will come under the microscope at an event in Lancashire next month.

Cheshire inventor and entrepreneur Stephen Falder, founder of AIM-listed Byotrol and a passionate advocate of small businesses will be one of the keynote speakers at the Small Firms’ Summit in Burnley on May.

Organised by the University of Central Lancashire – which is hosting at its
Burnley Campus – is also understood to expecting to welcome two very high profile guests – Her Majesty The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh – to the event on May 16.

The event, sponsored by Private Sector Partners and supported by major business organisations such as CBI, Institute of Directors and the Federation of Small Businesses, will bring together owner-managers and senior directors of smaller and medium-size firm to network, express views and explore the Government’s policies that affect smaller companies.

Len Collinson, chairman of the University of Central Lancashire’s avisory group on engagement with employers, said: “‘Here is a unique chance to meet other owner-managers and senior directors and explore topics of common interest.

“We will consider approaches for taking businesses forward to the next stage and top tips for better results. I hope participants will  express their opinions on the Government’s policies relating to, for example,regulation and red tape.”
