Office firm Bennett targets £20m sales

A NORTH West company which supplies workplace products and services to companies and higher education establishments, has set out plans to double turnover to £20m in the next five years.

Barry Bennett, a family-owned Bolton-based company has grown sales from £5m in 2006 to nearly £11m this year.

In recent years it has expanded into the south east with an acquisition in London, and last year took additional office space in its home town.

Barry Bennett, which specialising in helping businesses and high education accomodate employees or students with employees and students with special needs and disabilities.  Another string to its bow is an office supplies function ranging from stationery to computer equipment and software.

It has 85 staff based in Bolton, London and its office in Malvern, Worcs, which opened three years ago

It has recently rebranded and promoted Paul Limb as commercial manager, to drive its growth.

Mr Limb said: “While our Disabled Student Allowance (DSA) activities remain a core part of the business, my role is to increase revenues from our workplace business, working with our team to deliver world class products and services to our existing and potential client base.”

“Our recent reorganisation is aimed at streamlining our operations under one Barry Bennett brand, ensuring our customers can take advantage of all the products and services the business has to offer, whilst at the same time, reducing operational and logistics costs in order to deliver best value to them.”

He added: “Revenues continue to grow strongly and we are confident that we can deliver substantial growth across all areas of the business including our office supplies division, which is performing strongly and represents the roots of the business,” added Paul.

“We aim to achieve our ambitions by continuing to strengthen our service offer, in tandem with building on the solid relationships we have developed with our diverse client-base.”

Founder Barry Bennett, who was originally a typewriter enginer retired from the business in 2000. The company has been led since them by his son Antony.
