Carole Nash takes North West Pride award

RETIRED businesswoman Carole Nash was a fitting winner of the 2012 North West Pride Award at the 2012 North West Business Masters Award, in assocation with Jaguar.

Since selling the Altrincham-based motorbike insurance business which still bears her name, in 2007, she has devoted much of her timne and money to supporting numerous good causes in the community.masters jag

She is a particularly passionate supporter of music and the arts, and has funded facilities at the Lowry Arts Centre, Chetham’s School of Music and the Royal Northern College of Music.

On receiving her award Mrs Nash said: “I grabbed a unique opportunity when I set up my business on the dining room table and I feel I’d like to give something back to the community and help keep Manchester’s place in music and the arts.”

Judge David McKeith said: “Carole Nash is an entrepreneur who after a very successful business career has decided to spend a lot of her time and money helping community organisations throughout the North West and I think we should all take her lead.”

The Pride Award was sponsored by United Utilities. Other finalists were Liverpool’s The Brink Dry Bar and the Factory Youth Zone in North Manchester.
