Athletes join Provexis at factory launch

PROVEXIS, the developer of scientifically-proven sports nutrition food and drink, has opened its new manufacturing base in Nelson, Lancashire.

The facility is the new home of the AIM company’s Science in Sport business which it acquired for £8m a year ago and has moved from Blackburn.

Called The Innovation Centre, the new SiS facility is  approximately 38,000sq ft and employs more than 50 people.

The official opening on Tuesday was attended by Junior World Road Race Champion and 2011 Junior BBC Sports Personality of the Year nominee, Lucy Garner, and the UK’s top amateur cyclist and Time Trial Champion, Michael Hutchinson.

In a statement Berkshire-based Provexis said the facility is “already delivering reduced costs and improved margins”.
