PwC shakes up leadership team

BIG four accountancy firm PwC has announced a shake-up of of its senior team in the region.

The firm is to split its Northern practice into North West and North East regional operations, and its current senior partner in the North West, Nick Boden, is to be replaced.

Iwan Griffiths is relocating from the firm’s office in Tokyo to become North West regional leader and Manchester office senior partner, while Mr Boden will become head of industries in the region.

Martin Heath, assurance leader for the North West, will join the firm’s Liverpool office as senior partner and Fiona Kelsey will replace him in the assurance leader role.   

Stephanie Hyde, PwC partner and UK head of Regions, said: “We recognise the opportunities for growth across the North are significant and that each region has unique industries and sectors.

“This investment in leadership is about reinvigorating our offer to local clients and will help us clearly focus on meeting their needs.

“Iwan is a significant asset as he brings a wealth of international experience, particularly in the financial services industry, an extensive global and UK network, as well as a broad range of experience in audit, transactions and advisory work.

“I am also delighted that Nick Boden, Martin Heath and Jonathan Main will continue their tireless efforts in working with our people across the region to drive our agenda for growth forward.”   

Mr Griffiths, who is originally from Shropshire, has been at PwC since 1994 – originally working in London before moving on to offices in Seoul and Tokyo.

He said: “The North West is an incredibly important region for us, with a vibrant, growing business community. I am looking forward to moving to Manchester and bringing my international expertise to the table to build on the success of our 700-strong team here.”

Mr Boden will continue to focus on working with key clients in the North West and will remain in the Manchester office.
