Oliver Twinsafe spends £1m on upgrade

OLIVER Twinsafe, a Knutsford-based suster firm of Oliver Valves, has opened a new 47,000 sq ft manufacturing facility following a £1m investment.
The company, owned by Michael Oliver, specialises in the production of lightweight valves used to control the flow of oil during the extraction process. It has bought additional space in the town’s Parkgate industrial estate next to the its current headquarters.
The new space is being used to house extra building and testing equipment, including two new test rigs, which replicate the lifecycle of a valve by opening and closing it thousands of times in simulated pressures and temperatures.
Strict testing procedures are essential in order for the business to land contracts for its valves in oil & gas extraction.
Last year, Oliver Twinsafe secured the two largest orders in its history – a £7.2m order from a major Brazilian energy firm and a £12.6 million project to supply valves to three new platforms off the coast of Qatar. The company was also recently won the North West Exporter prize at TheBusinessDesk.com’s North West Business Masters award.
Mark Oliver, head of Oliver Twinsafe, said: “Our reputation for total reliability means our products are sought after by the world’s leading energy businesses.
“Creating two new testing rigs will allow us to further expand our capacity to carry out the quality assurance processes that keep our customers coming back to us.”
