Advisers seal Midlands IT deal
NORTH West advisers played key roles in the cross-border sale of Midlands company Capula, to a Dutch-owned group.
Paul Jones, a partner at Clearwater Corporate Finance in Manchester advised Imtech, which is buying Staffordshire-based IT systems group Capula from private equity firm Dunedin.
Giles Chesher, a private equity specialist at law firm Squire Sanders in Manchester advised Capula’s shareholders.
Based in Stone, Staffs, Capula specialises in advanced automation control and real-time IT solutions for energy and utility companies. It recorded a turnover of £40m in 2011 and employs more than 250 engineers across four UK sites.
Imtech has annual revenues in excess of €5.1bn and is listed on the Euronext Stock Exchange as well as the Dow Jones STOXX 600 index.
Clearwater’s Paul Jones said: “Capula is a specialist business in a highly technical space that adds further depth to Imtech’s service offering in the UK and provides access to high growth markets in energy and utilities.”
Giles Chesher added: “Capula is a fantastic business that is in a great position to take advantage of the benefits deriving from this combination.”
