Turnover up 10% at Hill Dickinson

TURNOVER at law firm Hill Dickinson rose 10% to £110.1m in the year to the end of April, with reveues rising in both Liverpool and Manchester.
The long-standing Liverpool-headquartered firm, which also as offices in Chester, Sheffield, London, Greece and Singapore, said it had seen consistent growth in all parts of the business, across all locations.
Fee income in Liverpool rose from £48.1m to £52.9m, underlining its strength in its home market. In Manchester revenues rose from £19m to £21.4m.
Managing partner Peter Jackson said: “It is immensely gratifying to see that we have achieved significant growth across every area of the firm, both geographically and in terms of our business offer.
“The firm continues to buck the trend against a challenging economic backdrop and that is testament to the calibre of our teams and our robust growth strategy. Our corporate and commercial work has been a key area of success for the firm and is an area we will continue to drive forward.”
In Liverpool – where the firm saw the full benefits of the 2010 acquisition of Halliwells’ Liverpool office – there was a strong performance in growth terms in corporate team with a number of new instructions.
In Manchester Hill Dickinson said its insurance and fraud teams, business services group and healthcare sectors had performed particularly well.
Partner Geraldine Ryan, head of the Manchester office said: “We have seen a really strong performance from the team this year. Our growth comes from fostering the strongest client relationships and adding value though innovation – a strategy which has seen the delivery of commercially effective results for our clients.”
Another star performer was the firm’s small Singapore office, which achieved a 67% hike in revenue from £1.14m in 2011 to £1.9m this year.
