Hydes puts Moss Side home on market

HYDES Brewery has appointed Drivers Jonas Deloitte and Jones Lang LaSalle to act on the sale of its Queens brewery site at Moss Lane West in Moss Side.
The company, which was started in 1863 by Alfred and Ralph Hyde which remains in family hands, is relocating to a new base at Kansas Avenue in Salford.
Hannah Thorne, assistant director at Drivers Jonas Deloitte, said: “This is a fantastic site that presents developers with a plethora of opportunities. It is characterised by a Grade II-listed building and extends to approximately 2.62 acres. Subject to planning, it is suitable for a number of different uses.”
The firm has been advised on its relocation to Salford by Cobbetts. The firm selling the Salford site, Keystone Estates, was advised by Hill Dickinson.
Cobbetts associate Philip Moran said: “The new Salford site will allow the company to reposition its brewing business and expand its cask beer range.
“It offers many benefits including easy access to Manchester city centre and the M602 motorway.”
