New owners at Stakehill

COMMERCIAL Estates Group has bought the Stakehill Industrial Estate in Middleton from Aviva for an undisclosed sum.
The estate contains 772,000 buildings across a 54-acre site – over 200,000 sq ft of which was recently taken by bedding manufacturer Comfy Quilts. It had a rent roll of £2.7m and was on the market for £28m.
The estate had witnessed a number of high-profile departures in recent years. Stobart Group had relocated a Tesco distribution centre to Widnes and parcel delivery firm DHL had also closed its operations on the park, and last year Aviva Investors and Rochdale Development Agency undertook a feasibility study to see if a Business Improvement District could be introduced at the park.
WHR and Savills advised Commercial Estates Group on the purchase.
