Appointments: MBS hires global marketing chief; PwC names Liverpool senior partner & more

JULIE McGuckian, has been appointed as director of global marketing and communications at Manchester Business School.
The role has been created to strengthen the School’s marketing and recruitment activity in the UK and across its six centres in Miami, Dubai, Shanghai, Singapore, Hong Kong and Sao Paulo.
Ms McGuckian joins from PR outfit Euro RSCG where she was a board director. She has also previously worked for London agency Fishburn Hedges, Tesco and the Department of Trade and Industry.

MARTIN Heath has been named as the new senior partner for PwC in Liverpool. He has taken over from Jonathan Main, who has held the role since 2010.
Mr Heath has been with PwC for 28 years. He has been of head of assurance for the firm in the North West for the last four years and has also spent two years on secondment to PwC’s Toronto office. He joined PwC in Manchester after graduating from the University of Nottingham in 1984.
Jonathan Main will continue to work in Liverpool and focus on expanding the firm’s North West Government and Public Sector and Tax practices.
Mr Heath said: “I am absolutely thrilled to be coming to Liverpool. It is a great city and a fantastic opportunity.
“We have an excellent team already and ambitious growth plans for the firm in the city, in revenues and numbers of staff, despite the current challenging economic environment. I want to strengthen our presence further within this important economy.”
Meanwhile, Paul Bamber has also been promoted to senior manager in the assurance team. His primary role will be working with owner-managed companies across the Liverpool city region.
In total, PwC employs nearly 70 staff in the city at its Princes Parade office.
Liverpool is one of the largest professional services firm in Merseyside and provides a range of services to numerous local businesses from owner managed to large listed companies. It also provides a full range of services to the public sector. Located at Princes Parade, the office has nearly 70 staff including six partners and directors.

PRESTON-based housebuilder Hollinwood Homes has appointed Mark Chadwick as its new residential development director.
He joins from Alderley Edge-based Jones Homes where, as regional director, he managed its Fylde coast division. Prior to that, he held senior positions at Persimmon Homes and at Wainhomes and Wilson Connolly.
At Hollinwood Homes, he will be responsible for managing the identifying development opportunities and delivering homes in the Lancashire area.
Mr Chadwick said: “Hollinwood Homes has developed a reputation for delivering high quality homes that appeal to first time buyers particularly.
“The new schemes we have planned extend this customer base with properties being developed with families and older purchasers in mind, as well as the first time buyer market.
“My role includes marketing the company’s developments to these new groups of potential purchasers and identifying new opportunities for Hollinwood Homes to expand and develop further.”
Hollinwood Homes is the residential property arm of The Marcus Worthington Group.

PRINT management firm APS Group has appointed Alastair Swindlehurst as HR director.
The newly-created position will see him head up a team of six and report into Glyn Jones, director of corporate services.
Swindlehurst joins from RR Donnelly where he spent four years|as an HR Business Partner. Prior to that, he has worked for Clariant, Princes Food and Next Group.

TRAFFORD-based debt management company, The Debt Advisor, has appointed Paul Barnard lead and marketing assistant manager.
He will be responsible for growing the firm’s lead generation operation, increasing sales and managing the marketing function for the business.
He was recruited from specialist affiliate marketing agency R.O.EYE, also based in Manchester.
Managing director Bev Budsworth added: “Paul has the necessary skills and experience to really help us expand referrals from our affiliate network. His efforts are already leading to increased volumes of referrals.”
