Moneysupermarket continues to deliver

EWLOE-based price comparison website Moneysupermarket.com said that it expects sales for the six months to June 30 to be 15% ahead of last year at £102m. This is despite a strong comparative trading period last year when the company sponsored ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent show.
Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation is also likely to be 24% higer at £28.5m.
The company also said that its financial position remains “strong”, with net cash at the end of the period of £36.7m.
Last week, shareholders in the company overwhelmingly approved a deal for the company to buy personal finance expert Martin Lewis’s MoneysavingExpert.com site for up to £87m, although the deal is currently being reviewed by the Office of Fair Trading to determine whether the merger will substantially lessen competition.
