Appointments: Boote Edgar Esterkin; HOW Planning; and more

MANCHESTER law firm Boote Edgar Esterkin has appointed Phil Hitchen as its new head of corporate.

Mr Hitchen, who was previously at Ralli Solicitors, jhas 21 years of non-contentions corporate and commercial work, particularly for owner/managers.

The firm’s managing partner, Gary Lederberg, said: “We welcome Phil’s enthusiasm and drive, which is a perfect fit for the culture which we have at Boote Edgar Esterkin.

“With the synergy that his skills, experience and knowledge bring to our team, I have no doubt that his appointment will be a great success.”

HOW Planning has appointed two new members of staff and made two internal promotions.

Chris Sinton, 27, joins from the Stoke office of Wardell Armstrong where he worked on a range of renewable energy, waste and environmental projects. Tom Simons, 22, has also joined as a graduate planner straight from completing a Masters degree in Town & Country Planning.

Meanwhile, Richard Barton has been promoted to associate and Dan Brown has been promoted to principal planner.

POSITIVE CashfloW Finance has recruited Caroline Langdon to run is south of England region.

The Manchester-based firm, which also has an office in Birmingham, said that Langdon had been recruited to grow its profile across the South.

She joins following a 25-year career in invoice finance with Close Invoice Finance and Bibby Financial Services, as well as international roles in the US and Germany.

FINANCIAL planning firm Ludlow Wealth Management has appointed Greg O’Brien as a financial consultant.

He joins the Southport-based firm following an eight-year spell at Preston-based Taylor Patterson and will work with both corporate and private clients.

His appointment follows Ludlow Wealth Management’s recent acquisition of Preston-based Wallwork Ludlow.

The Ludlow Wealth Management Group was formed in 1993 by Sid Ludlow and currently has 45 staff and £350 million of assets under management.

Sid Ludlow said: “As the company has grown we had the need to recruit another senior consultant, and Greg fits the bill. He has a good working knowledge of the area and his enthusiastic approach and commitment to deliver high levels of customer service clearly match the ethos of Ludlow.”
