Appointments: Deloitte; Cobbetts; Vibe; PH Media; and more

DELOITTE has promoted Dan Smith to partner in its restructuring services arm.

Smith, who has 14 years of experience in turnarounds, joined Deloitte in 2010. Recent caseloads include the £150m sale of the real estate portolio owned by Knowsley-based Spencer Commercial Property.

Bill Dawson, partner and head of Deloitte’s restructuring services practice in the North, said: “Our restructuring business continues to grow from strength to strength and it is down to the tremendous depth and breadth of talent in the team.

LAW firm Cobbetts has promoted 11 members of staff in its Manchester office, including two to partner.

The appointments are part of 24 firm-wide promotions across its four offices.
The partner promotions in Manchester are Duncan Hope (commercial litigation) and Angela Bhaseen (real estate).

Helena Davies (property litigation), Paul Crighton (banking) and Phil Moran (real estate) have been made directors, while Phil Duignan (commercial litigation), Jo Hadley (property litigation), Roy Barry and Jillian Josephson (real estate), Richard Kay (employment) and Laura Lovell (corporate) have been promoted to associates.

Paul Johnson, head of Cobbetts’ Manchester office, said: “The promotions of the 11 reflects their hard work and the commitment each has shown to their area of the business.”

RJW Slater & Gordon has taken on Cara Nuttall from Pannone to join its new children’s team within the firm’s family practice in Manchester.

Her caseload will range from domestic disputes involving issues about residence, contact and/or the attribution and exercise of parental responsibility, to complex transnational litigation.

MACCLESFIELD-based Vibe has appointed Kyle Jenner to its creative team, which is part of the agency’s integrated service offering.
Mr Jenner joins Vibe after studying graphic design at Shillington College. His appointment is part of the branding agency’s growth strategy, which recently saw Graham Robinson’s addition to the team as director of digital marketing.
Jason Patrick, managing director of Vibe, said: “We recognised Kyle’s ability to understand the value of a consistent brand and the importance of translating commercial objectives into the creative process.”

PH Media Head of Creative Symon DickinsonSYMON Dickinson has joined PH Media Group as its new head of creative.
Dickinson joins the Old Trafford-based firm from Manchester-based social marketing consultancy The Hub, where he was art director.

Dickinson said: “From the outset I have been impressed with the forward-thinking, progressive nature of the business and I believe there is strong potential for PH Media to grow further in the coming years. I’m looking forward to being a part of that.”

BOLTON-based Seddon Construction has appointed Tony Costello as its national training and development manager.

Tony Costello of Seddon ConstructionCostello joins Seddon from Warrington-based Daniel Contractors, where he held the same position. He will be based at the company’s Bolton HQ.
He will be responsible for developing the company’s training strategy and working with schools, colleges and universities through its apprenticeship and graduate training schemes. The firm is planning to take on 75 trainees this year.

Costello has also been head of training at construction company Bethell Group and has worked for sector skills council CITB-ConstructionSkills, for whom he still chairs its North West training group.

Seddon Construction managing director Jonathan Seddon said: “Tony has extensive training and development expertise, having worked in the construction industry for over 25 years with an extremely strong training track record.
