DTZ to deliver Trafford Park growth strategy

DTZ has been commissioned by Trafford Council to co-ordinate a growth strategy for the future of the sprawling Trafford Park industrial estate.

The firm will lead a team including architects Taylor Young, Regeneris and Curtins Consulting to work on a new spatial framework which will focus on the future potential of the park – making the most of its links to adjoining areas such as the Trafford Centre, Media City:UK, Pomona docks and Manchester United Football Club.

The site is the largest industrial estate in the North and one of the biggest in Europe.

Martin Douglas, president of Greater Manchester Chamber and a director at food giant Cargill’s Trafford Park base, said: “The Business Neighbourhood Growth Strategy will enable Trafford Park to achieve its tremendous potential in terms of business investment and sustainable economic growth for both the Manchester city-region and the wider North West.

“It will set out a sound framework to reinvigorate the ambitions for Trafford Park.”

Nick Gerrard, Trafford Council’s director for economic growth, said: “Trafford Park is a critical economic priority for Trafford, Greater Manchester and the North West and we are confident (the team) will develop a robust framework that will help to unlock growth.”
