Beast Rampz plans new Manchester skate park

SKATEBOARDING specialist Beast Rampz has taken 27,500 sq ft in Ardwick with the intention of converting it into the “finest skate park in the North West”.
The Hazel Grove-based firm has submitted plans and expects to invest £100,000 if the scheme is approved.
Co-owner Mark Newbould said: “Our vision is to create the finest skate park in the northwest of England and hopefully on of the top three in the UK.
“We aim to provide safe and secure facilities for people of all ages and abilities. Whether they are interested in skateboarding, BMXs or even scooters, we have something for everyone as all our facilities will be available to wheelchair users.
“We will have full coaching facilities, especially during school holidays and even a shop selling equipment and a ‘Mini Beast Rampz’ for the under sixes.”
Manchester law firm Glaisyers Solicitors advised Beast Rampz on its lease and planning matters for the industrial unit at Montague House, Matthew’s Street.
Eric Quirk, retail and commercial property partner at Glaisyers, said: “The client has plans for significant investment in the park which should really benefit the city providing Manchester with a great facility for everyone to enjoy.”
Beast Rampz was founded by Newbould and Tim Bottomley. They hope the Ardwick skate park – their first project – will open in late autumn and employ up to 10 staff.
