Swinton’s commercial arm makes Scottish swoop

SWINTON Group, the insurance broker is targeting Scotland for growth in its commercial arm after making an acquisition.
The French-owned, Manchester-based group has bought Kirkintilloch Insurance Services, a small commerical broker based on the outskirts of Glasgow.
The deal will see KIS become Swinton Commercial’s first office north of the border.
Established in 1967, has gross written premiums of £1.75m. As part of the deal Swinton will lease the current premises from Glasgow-born businessman Bill Paterson, 76, who is retiring.
Kirkintilloch Insurance Services’ staff have been retained and Steve Anderson has been appointed as commercial centre manager.

Swinton is the UK’s high street insurer with 553 commercial and personal outlets. Swinton Commercial has 33 commercial offices across the UK and Northern Ireland.
