CBRE surveyor breaks records with endurance feat

A GRADUATE surveyor at CBRE in Manchester has set a new female record for one of the world’s most gruelling endurance events, the Arch2Arc challenge.
Michelle Rothwell completed the run, swim and cycle from Marble Arch in London to the Arc de Triomphe in Paris in 91 hours and 25 minutes – five-and-half hours faster than any other female competitor.
She is the youngest of only 10 people who have completed the race.
It consists of an 87-mile run from London to Dover, a 24-mile swim across the English Channel followed by 181 miles of cycling.
She said: “I’m ecstatic to have beaten the previous female record for the Arch2Arc challenge. I pushed myself to the extreme both mentally and physically.
“It’s an incredible feeling to have finished such an insane event, and one which I will look back on with fond memories.
“As the saying goes, pain is temporary, but success is forever. Everyone has been fantastic with their support and very generous with their sponsorship.”
Rothwell’s exploits raised £9,000 for the charity Cancer Care in the North West.
