Three Rovers directors stand down

THREE Blackburn Rovers directors have stepped down from the club’s board.

Mahesh Gupta, who joined the club in January 2011, and Vineeth Errabelly, a director since August 2011, resigned on August 17 according to documents filed at Companies House.

They were both representatives of Venky’s, the Indian poultry business which acquired Rovers in November 2010.

Sporting director Stephen Hunt also stepped down last month after a year on the board.

Mr Gupta was one of the first Venky’s representative to join the board, while Mr Errabelly, known at the club as Vineeth Rao, is understood to have held a senior decision-making position at Ewood Park.

No one at the club could be reached for comment.
