Roxtec sales powered by oil and gas

CABLE and pipe seal manufacturer Roxtec has recorded a 15% rise in annual UK turnover to £3.7m.

The Swedish firm, which has its UK headquarters in Bury, said it had benefited from the offshore oil and gas sector.

Major projects included supplying Total’s gas testing laboratory at St Fergus. Scotland, and two new build production platforms in the North Sea.

Roxtec UK managing director Graham O’Hare said: “This has been a very strong year for us and reward for our constant product innovation. We continue to see wind farms, power generation and the oil and gas sectors including offshore equipment as fundamental to our continued growth.

“Sealing cables and pipes safely against the twin hazards of fire and water remains of paramount concern in these sectors and the ability to provide electrical, mechanical and instrumentation engineers bespoke solutions for their projects is crucial.”

Mr O’Hare said future growth areas include the process industries – covering chemical, pharmaceutical and food manufacture, and electrical substations.
