Appointments: NorthEdge; Barclays; HSBC & more

PRIVATE equity firm NorthEdge Capital is continuing to build its team after reaching first close of its maiden fund.

The Manchester outfit, which is set to hit the deals trail in the next few months, has appointed Phil Frame as senior investment executive.

Mr Frame was most recently assistant director at Altium Capital for three years and previously spent four years at KPMG.

BARCLAYS Manchester has appointed Simon Pickerill to its corporate and employer solutions business.

He joins Barclays from Alexander Forbes, where he spent seven years.

Richard Phelps, head of Barclays Corporate & Employer Solutions, said: “At a time where employers are facing the challenge of meeting requirements of pension reform and with the arrival of auto-enrolment imminent, Simon’s appointment to C&ES gives us a real boost.

HSBC Commercial Banking in Liverpool has appointed a further six new staff.

The newcomers are: Dan Peacock, Sophie Ovenden, Peter Nelson, John Evans, Mike Cassidy and Richard Ford who join HSBC in a variety of roles ranging from relationship manager, international trade advisers to specialists in working capital structuring.

Rikki Griffiths, area commercial director at HSBC Commercial Banking in Liverpool, said: “HSBC already works with a wide variety of businesses from a range of sectors, but there are many more Liverpool organisations that could really benefit from our experience and expertise in helping companies to trade internationally.”

NORTH West chartered accountants and business advisers Moore and Smalley has appointed three new trainees.

Emily Bowe and Matthew Schofield have been appointed as corporate assistants at the firm’s Preston office, while Lorna Elsdon has joined the Kendal office as a corporate assistant.

CHRIS Garland has been appointed as UK mechanical general manager at Hertel, the industrial maintenance and services company.
 
Based at the Hertel’s new facility at Ellesmere Port, Mr Garland will be responsible for business development and strategic planning as well as the delivery of the company’s mechanical work including the operations, safety and quality at the site.
 
He has been with Hertel for three years and was previously regional business development manager covering the North East and Cumbria.

BURY-based branding and communication specialist, Clock Creative, has appointed Allie Johns as planning director.
 
She has worked for major blue chip companies including British Airways, Stagecoach Group and travel agency Going Places.

In her new role at Clock Allie will focus on identifying, planning and managing brand creation and development opportunities with the agency’s existing and prospective client base.
 
Ann Rimmer, director of Strategy at Clock said: “Allie brings a vast amount of experience to her role and her appointment will play a key part in helping us to develop and deliver exceptional brand and communications plans for our clients; we’re delighted to have her on the team.”
