Jet2 issues winding-up order on Stockport holiday firm

TOUR operator Jet2Holidays, sister company to the budget airline Jet2.com, has issued a winding up petition on a small Stockport travel business.
Jet2, part of the Yorkshire-based Dart Group, alleges Marple company Top Class Travel, a late deal holiday specialist, owes it £70,000 in unpaid fees after taking more than 100 people on holiday.
It claims some of the money owed dates back to March.
Philip Meeson, boss of Jet2holidays, said: “We have taken 110 passengers on fabulous, mainly all inclusive, holidays and we haven’t been paid.
“We have continually phoned and visited their offices to try to arrive at an agreement regarding their outstanding debts, without any success.”
Top Class Travel was not available for comment.
