Ryans hopes to clean up from Manchester office

FORMER head of sales at Manchester City has been hired to spearhead growth at stadium and venue cleaning specialist Ryans Cleaning.

Mr Chell will be managing director at the Tipperary-based firm which has opened new offices in Manchester, Dublin and Birmingham.

The business specialises in cleaning up after major events such as the London Olympics, the Queen’s Jubilee in Hyde Park and the British Formula 1 Grand Prix at Silverstone.

It expects to employ four people in Manchester rising to 16. The firm says it will hire up to 300 seasonal and part-time staff depending on the contracts it wins.

Chief executive Pat Ryan said: “We are thrilled to be expanding our offer across the UK and Ireland.  I am therefore pleased that we are expanding  office locations to be closer to our existing clients and improve the service offer to planned new business.

The group has sales of £5m and 70 staff.
