Bargain Booze’s record £1m festive campaign

CHESHIRE off licence and convenience store group, Bargain Booze, is hoping a £1m national TV and radio advertising campaign for Christmas will boost sales over the festive period.
The Crewe company says the campaign which will launch on December 11 is its biggest-ever investment. It will air on selected ITV 1 regions, ITV 2, and ITV 4 TV channels and across the airwaves nationally on Talksport and on regional Real and Smooth radio stations, reaching more than 20 million UK adults.
The campaign investment forms part of a drive to raise the awareness of the company’s franchisee-operated stores across the country, which trade under Bargain Booze, Bargain Booze Plus, Select Convenience and Thoroughgoods fascias.
Marketing director Adam Burnett said: “Christmas is a key sales period for every retailer so it is important that we showcase the strength and breadth of our offers in the run up to the festive period.
“The campaign aims to drive footfall, increase volume sales and attract new customers by promoting our competitive deals on food and drink products, plus the convenience of shopping locally.”
The advertising campaign has been developed by McCann Manchester following its appointment by private equity-owned Bargain Booze earlier this year.
