Appointments: Linder Myers, Peel & more

LAW firm Linder Myers has appointed Elisabeth Bellamy as operations director following its recent spree of mergers and acquisitions.
The new role has been created for her after the Manchester firm merged with Chester-based Drummonds Solicitors at the end of September. She was Drummonds’ managing partner for 11 years.
Elisabeth Bellamy said: “I was delighted to accept the new role following the merger and will be drawing on my extensive experience gained both at Drummonds and a number of top 30 UK firms before that. Linder Myers is a fast growing business with great ambitions and my role will involve managing the IT, HR, compliance and training functions to ensure effective integration following recent growth.”

IAN Pollitt, a development and investment surveyor at The Peel Group has been appointed to the board of the Liverpool Waterfront Business Partnership.
The partnership consists of major land owners, businesses and organisations along the waterfront and was started informally two years, but has recently formed as a community interest company.
Mr Pollitt said: “Peel has been involved from the beginning of the process to create this partnership and I am delighted to have been invited to become a board member. Liverpool Waterfront is an excellent place to be, it has four very unique areas that fit together perfectly to create not only a stunning backdrop but an excellent visitor environment.”

THE Manchester office of Appleyard Lees, the patent and trade mark attorneys, has strengthened its electronics team with the appointment of associate, Richard Bray.
A qualified chartered patent attorney and European patent attorney, Mr Bray specialises in the fields of physics and engineering.
Joining from rival Marks & Clerk, his work has spanned imprint and optical lithography, turbochargers, electro-mechanical safety switches, polymeric heating cables and optometry.
Managing partner Paul Brandon, said: “We welcome Richard to the team. His appointment is a reinforcement of the firm’s growth strategy, as we continue to enhance our specialisms to ensure clients can benefit from our breadth of IP expertise.”

STEPHANIE Macpherson has left Hill Dickinson to join the construction team at the Manchester office of Darbys Solicitors.
Darbys’ managing partner Simon McCrum said: “Our construction team, led by partners Andrew Rimmer and Emma Judge, is very busy. After only a few months of Andrew and Emma joining us we needed another lawyer. We suspect this recruitment will not be enough so further recruitment will follow.”
